Pre-approvals

Filed under: Other, Sites, Warnings — Admin @ 7:39 pm

Pre-approvals

Most pre-approval mailings request a signature and a statement of recent earnings. It sounds pretty straightforward, but the words “subject to building business credit approval” are always hidden somewhere. While it is tempting to simply sign away, or make up an amount under the “earnings” title, this information will haunt you down the road when you are unable to pay your bills. No one wants a fraud or perjury charge in addition to other trouble that might come with it.

If it Sounds too Good to be True, it is

If you have been pre-approved despite not having worked for a few months or your gross income is less than $10,000, you really should think twice before attempting to apply for a business line of credit card. You should certainly not have been pre-approved.

Choosing the Business

Filed under: Articles, Other, Sites — Admin @ 2:00 pm

Choosing the Business

A home based business opportunity can be either product-oriented or service-oriented. Product-oriented businesses are usually two types: a) selling products made by you, family members and/or employees (like raw materials such as fabrics or tanned leather, kits like yarn/pattern and knitting needles, partially finished items like unpainted bird houses or completed articles such as jewelry and belt buckles) or b)selling products manufactured by others and either purchased by you for resale or sold on an order basis. Services may involve performing a service at the place of business (word processing, tutoring, bookkeeping or child care) or at another location (house painting, carpet cleaning or consulting). To determine or confirm your business opportunity idea(s), examine your interests, skills and abilities, education/training, and experiences.
You must enjoy doing the work involved. Just because you make super apple pies or wooden toys doesn’t mean that you would want to create them six days a week. Perhaps you would rather teach others to make pies or toys! Teaching requires a totally different set of skills and interests than doing the actual work yourself. See (Appendix A) for a list of business ideas.

Considering powered mobility for individuals with stroke

medical scooters and power wheelchairs is an option that provides many disabled individuals with a means of locomotion. Stroke is the leading cause of long-term disability in this country. Unfortunately, there is currently a lack of published material that expounds on power mobility as it relates to clients who have had a stroke. We will present the benefits and considerations for choosing power wheelchairs for this client population. A brief review of seating and mobility evaluation and funding considerations is included with an emphasis on specific issues concerning stroke clients. Finally, a call for further research on this topic is presented.

Warm Up Your Job Opportunity With a Cold Cover Letter

Filed under: Other, Sites, Warnings — Admin @ 6:19 pm

Warm Up Your Job Opportunity With a Cold Cover Letter

Perhaps you have an idea for a job that doesn’t readily exist but one that you’d like to create. Suppose you have a master’s degree in history with plenty of experience doing researchsomething you enjoy. If so, write a cold cover letter, describing how you could be an asset to a company by doing research work. You might approach a publishing company or a chamber of commerce with cold cover letters and suggest a position that includes researching the history of a city or company so that a book could be written on that community or organization and made available as a fund-raiser. A cold cover letter is a good vehicle for such an idea.

Advantages and disadvantages

Filed under: Business, Other, Sites — Admin @ 7:41 am

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of a home based business opportunity include having a flexible schedule; integration of family and work responsibilities; less involvement with others in a regular work environment, such as power struggles and red tape; no commuting time (unless you travel to a customer’s home or place of business); control of your own personal environment (temperature, light, work breaks, etc); self-determination and independence; increasing personal fulfillment; seeking and setting personal goals; enhancing creativity; and remaining in a community or moving with a spouse to a new community even when jobs are scarce or not available.
Disadvantages of a home business opportunity include needing to know a lot of information to operate a business successfully; the risk involved in operating a business; conflict in ownership of time (When is it my “own” time and when is “business” time?); lack of guaranteed employee fringe benefits; many competing roles and responsibilities (producer, promoter, bill collector, customer service representative); lack of job security; loss of home space use by family; interruptions; lack of self-discipline; little opportunity to delegate tasks to others; long hard hours, and legal requirements including zoning regulations. Being committed to a business may mean lack of freedom to do other things and to go as you please.

Disability type influences heart rate response during power wheelchair sport

Filed under: Other, Sites, Warnings — Admin @ 1:01 pm

Disability type influences heart rate response during power wheelchair sport

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of disability type on exercise response during power wheelchairs and handicap scooters competition. The secondary purpose was to determine the extent to which heart rate responses during competition meet cardiorespiratory fitness training intensities for the general population. METHODS: Forty-eight athletes who had cerebral palsy (CP, N = 31), spinal cord injury (SCI, N = 10), or muscular dystrophy (MD, N = 7), and were competing in the 2003 Power Soccer National Tournament, volunteered to participate. Heart rate was recorded every 5 s throughout pre-game and game conditions by Polar S610 monitors. Average heart rate (HR) values were determined for GAME and RESPONSE (change score between GAME HR and pre-game HR). The Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric test was used to determine whether a significant difference among group medians existed on the dependent measure, RESPONSE (P < 0.05). RESULTS: A significant difference on RESPONSE (P < 0.05) existed among athletes with CP (29 bpm), SCI (17 bpm), and MD (26 bpm). The median RESPONSE for athletes with CP was 12 bpm higher than athletes with SCI, and this difference was significant (P < 0.01). Further, 22 athletes with CP (71%), 5 athletes with MD (71%), and 1 athlete with SCI (10%) exceeded 55% of estimated HR(max) for at least 30 min during competition. CONCLUSION: Disability type influences the heart rate response to power wheelchair sport, and may affect the ability to sustain training intensities associated with fitness improvement.

Honesty

Filed under: Other, Sites, Warnings — Admin @ 12:15 pm

Honesty

The first thing to remember is to be a 100% honest. In this case, fill out the building business credit card application with true information regarding your financial condition, your marital status and even something as simple as your true address. Banks check all of this information and will be suspicious if they find that something is not right

The second tip is to not forget anything. For example, if you are buying or leasing a car, mention it in the application. If you are making your monthly payments in a timely manner, then this is something to your advantage as it shows the bank that you are someone who can be trusted. The same thing applies if you have a mortgage for your home.

Check and double-check all the spellings and numbers you enter in your business line of credit card application. Although it may not be considered as fraudulent if you make a mistake, it can significantly delay the processing time if, for instance, your date of birth and social security number are not correct.

Affiliate marketing continues to be a solid home business idea. Affiliate marketing involves you selling other people’s products and then earning commission of the sells. The affiliate program will provide you with banners and links to place on your web site. As people click on the link and purchase something from the affiliates business, you earn a certain amount of commission depending on the rates of the program.
While affiliate marketing has a great potential, freelance jobs can make you a lot more money. A Starscapes.com business opportunity
that has begun to dwindle down over the past few years is selling advertising. However, there is still money to be made through online advertising. Google Adsense has been the top provider for advertising on the internet. All you have to do is place Google ads on your web site somewhere. As people click on the ads, you earn a small amount from the clicks. Over a period of time this adds up.
Another home business idea that is constantly growing is article writing. If you think about it, quality content is something that every business and web site needs. While many people have ideas, they do not always possess the writing skills. And because of this many are more than willing to pay for fresh and enticing content.
The last idea to consider is creating a web site and selling your own products. There is nothing more rewarding then selling your own products that you created. Along with selling products of your own, having a web site also gives you the opportunity to do all of the methods listed above. While it can become a handful, it will give you multiple ways to generate income.
